We need your help! Our friend Adam is currently living in his car. Adam has been in Dickson since 2016 and has lost his housing due to the landlord selling his house. For the past 3 weeks he has been living out of his car while looking for a new place to stay. Being on disability and having severe medical conditions has limited the places available to him. He has COPD, heart issues along with being diabetic and high blood pressure. His medicine has to be refrigerated and he is having a hard time trying to stay healthy and find a place to live. He is too healthy for assisted living but not healthy enough to work. The current wait list for housing for an older adult male is 2 years. If he has to continue to live like this, he won’t survive. As many of you know, the housing market in Dickson has increased dramatically. Any place he could think of to rent if more than he makes in a single month. Adam needs help now!The Wayne Center’s main mission is to have a self-sustainable farm where everyone can have a safe place to lay their head at night and a job to keep their hands busy. We are in the process of creating a self-sustaining farm but we want to help people now. With the tornados, Waverly flood victims, covid, and inflation the cost of living in Dickson is too high. We have the chance to put Adam in a camper until he can receive housing. In order for us to help him into the camper we need your help. We are looking for $3000 to go towards the cost of purchasing the camper and materials needed to fix minor repairs. Would you please help? A $20 donation can help save Adam’s life.
